Parts of a Diamond & Its Solidity

A diamond’s brilliance and strength come not only from its quality but also from its precisely cut parts. Every diamond has three main sections:

  • Crown – The top portion that captures light and showcases the sparkle.
  • Girdle – The middle edge that separates the crown and pavilion; it's the widest part of the diamond.
  • Pavilion – The lower half that reflects light back through the crown, creating brilliance.

Additionally, diamonds often have a table (top flat facet) and a culet (tiny point at the bottom).

Cut

Cut refers to how well a diamond has been shaped and faceted from its raw form. A precise cut ensures maximum brilliance, sparkle, and fire. Even with perfect clarity and colour, a poorly cut diamond will appear lifeless.

Carat

Carat is the measurement of a diamond’s weight. Larger carat weights are rarer and usually more valuable, but the overall beauty of a diamond also depends on the balance of Cut, Colour, and Clarity along with Carat.

Colour

Diamond colour is graded from D (perfectly colourless) to Z (noticeable yellow tint). At Vardhman Jewellers, we offer only E-F Colour diamonds — considered “colourless” and among the most prestigious grades. These reflect maximum light and appear brilliantly white, giving superior visual purity and good long-term value.

Clarity

Clarity measures how free a diamond is from internal inclusions or external blemishes. We specialise in VVS (Very Very Slightly Included) clarity diamonds, where inclusions are almost impossible to detect even under 10x magnification — producing exceptional sparkle and near-flawless appearance.

At Vardhman Jewellers, we provide diamonds with a perfect balance of Cut, Carat, Colour, and Clarity — with a special focus on premium E-F Colour and VVS Clarity. This rare combination guarantees brilliance, prestige, and timeless value for every piece of jewellery.
