Our Founder — Shri V. D. Kothari (1939–2024)
In cherished memory of our beloved founder, whose vision guides us every day.
The legacy of Vardhman Jewellers began with Shri V. D. Kothari, who migrated from Rajasthan, Desuri [Marwad] with his father and two brothers. After years of learning across different trades and supporting the family on a modest income at Kurla (Takyawad), he set out to build his own path.
With just ₹9,000 in savings, he established Vardhman Jewellers at a rented shop in Mankhurd, Chita Camp, introducing a brand that would come to symbolize trust. In the early years, he extended loans against customers’ gold, silver and utensils, steadily building capital through honesty and fairness.
Growing with the community’s faith, he opened a 1,000 sq. ft. showroom at Govandi, Shivaji Nagar. After nearly 45 years of tireless work, he established a flagship 5,000 sq. ft. store in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, renowned for its wide collection and fair pricing. Today, his sons carry forward his principles—serving with purity, value and heartfelt relationships.
